Dr. Stanley Robison

Dr. Stanley Robison

Dr. Stanley Robison founded Robison Orthodontics on the belief that every patient deserves a plan made for their own smile, and only the treatment they truly need. He grew up in Silver Spring and has called Frederick home since 1992.

Education and training

  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland at Baltimore
  • One-year residency at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic in Pennsylvania
  • Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science, University of Illinois at Chicago, with research on facial growth in patients with cleft lip and palate

Always learning, and teaching

Dr. Robison is certified by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners to teach continuing education courses, and he presents to fellow dentists on orthodontic methods and new technology. He also attends courses every month, so if the office is closed for a day, he is most likely at a seminar.

Memberships

American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, Maryland State Society of Orthodontists, Maryland State Dental Association and Frederick County Dental Society.

In the community

He volunteers at the Washington County Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Clinic, which serves patients from western Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and he serves in a volunteer leadership role at his church. The practice is a member and screening office for Smiles Change Lives, a nonprofit that makes treatment affordable for families who could not otherwise pay for it.

Away from patients

Dr. Robison has been married since 1983 and has three grown sons and three young grandchildren. He gardens, and he likes anything he can make with his hands: leatherwork, woodwork, jewelry casting and painting among them.
